Foreign Students in the UK

Education in UK has become a major source of revenue for the country and contributes heavily towards the nation’s economy. A degree that costs 5000 pounds for a British or other European nationals usually costs twice or more to the international students. Despite the large difference the students are willing to bear the heavy cost which shows their trust of the education system.

Education has become an industry in UK that has opened doors to various opportunities and possibilities. Due to education, tourism remains high throughout the year in the country as both locals and the international students go out for tours and study guides. The hotel industry remains busy in all seasons and affiliated businesses also flourish. The motels keep getting new customers and even local residents provide one or more rooms for rent to students for extra income. These are cheaper than the commercial residences (hotels and motels) and often preferred by those who wish to save money as much as possible.

At a school level, private establishments are being challenged by affordable options, such as Sunny Varkey’s schools that have already performed will in elsewhere in the world.

The British High Commissions in other countries receive visa applications for educational purposes throughout the year for both spring and fall sessions. Compared to USA, the British visa for study takes shorter time to process despite heavy scrutiny of all official records.
